Land of the Rising Sun

Tokyo, Japan’s busy capital, mixes the ultramodern and the traditional, from neon-lit skyscrapers to historic temples. The opulent Meiji Shinto Shrine is known for its towering gate and surrounding woods. The Imperial Palace sits amid large public gardens. The Tsukiji Market offers an unforgettable experience, even if you are not a sushi lover. The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, the Tokyo Tower, and shopping the Ginza district are a MUST!

For the more adventurous, Mt Fuji is 110 km southwest of Tokyo. A Japanese saying states “A wise man climbs Fuji once. Only a fool climbs it twice.”
